The following projects are designed and conducted by Dr. Elham Hatef, MD, MPH during the time of her stay in Iran for 2 months. Dr. Hatef has recently completed her residency and chief residency in preventive medicine at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Baltimore, MD, 21201. She is offered a faculty position at Johns Hopkins University starting the new academic year in September 2015;
1. Lecture presentation entitled “The Application of Technology in Disease Detection” at Public Health Ophthalmology Forum, Farabi Eye Hospital, Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Tir 1394
2. Book project on “Epidemiology of Eye Diseases in Iran”: acting as editor-in-chief; finalizing the outline of the book and inviting section and chapter authors/ editors in collaboration with Farabi Eye Hospital, Tehran University of Medical Sciences
3. Collaboration in the design and conduct of the national diabetic eye exam project; telescreening and the reading centers. Dr. Hatef is working on a grant proposal from NIMAD to cover the expenses of design, implementation, and evaluation of this project.
4. Providing technical consult for a number of undergoing manuscript at Farabi Eye Hospital.
