The 2nd ICO-Farabi Grant was awarded to Dr. Mohammad Reza Khalili, the winner of "Young Scholar in Ophthalmology Award" in the 9th Shams Festival on Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences on Feb 23, 2017.

The 2nd "ICO-Farabi Grant for Young Ophthalmologist" was awarded to Dr. Khalili, the winner of "Young Scholar in Ophthalmology Award" in the 9th Shams Festival on Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences on Feb 23, 2017. Dr. Khalili is the assistant professor of Ophthalmology at Shiraz university of Medical Sciences.

 

Following the 7th Shams Festival in Feb., 2015 and awarding Khodadoust Honor (Humanitarian and Prevention of Blindness Award) to the Austrian ophthalmologist, late Dr. Anton Regner who dedicated a segment of his life (1949-1953) in Dezfoul of Iran to help and contribute to trachoma control, his relatives kindly donated a grant for "ICO Fellowship for Young Iranian Ophthalmologists" to Shams Festival and Farabi Hospital.

 

The Program will offer a 3-month fellowship (clinical or research) for young Iranian ophthalmologists. The fellowship will be organized by the ICO under the auspices of the ICO Fellowships Program.

 

Young ophthalmologists seeking to gain this grant are encouraged to participate in the annual competition of Shams Festival. The winner of "Young Scholar in Ophthalmology Award" would be granted with the ICO Fellowship.
